15 Wellness Practices I Started Implementing in 2025
Practices that made a huge difference in my mood, digestion, sleep, hormones, and overall energy
If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with all things health and wellness. I LOVE learning about the body, longevity, and ways to feel good from the inside out. I’m the person who will happily test the holistic practices some people call “woo-woo,” keep what works, and leave behind what doesn’t.
This past year, while becoming a certified holistic health coach, I really dove deeper into practices I’d already been doing — and explored new ones that genuinely made a difference for me.
Here are 15 wellness practices that supported my nervous system, hormones, energy, digestion, and mental clarity in 2025:
1. Tongue Scraping
My morning non-negotiable. Scraping off that charming overnight biofilm removes odor-causing bacteria, supports the oral microbiome, and can even help digestion (enzymes start in the mouth!). It takes ten seconds and makes me feel instantly clean. I truly cannot travel without my scraper — it’s practically emotional support metal at this point.
2. Mouth Taping
If you’ve ever heard me talk about sleep, I’m sorry. I’m passionate about my sleep routine. Mouth taping encourages nasal breathing, which boosts nitric oxide (amazing for circulation + immune function), reduces snoring, prevents dry mouth, and leaves me waking up clear instead of foggy. The difference is wild.
3. Grounding
A few minutes barefoot outside — yes, even in the cold (even in the snow) — has become one of my favorite habits. Grounding connects you to the earth’s natural negative charge, working to reduce inflammation, calm the nervous system, and support circadian rhythm. It’s also just so peaceful to do first thing in the morning while getting your sunlight exposure.
4. Morning Facial Ice Baths
A bowl of ice water and your face = free facelift. Cold exposure reduces puffiness, increases circulation, activates the vagus nerve, and wakes me up faster than caffeine. Plus, it gives my skin a glowy, sculpted look which we always appreciate. My mom’s even been asking me to leave the bowl out to test it for herself.
5. Legs Up the Wall Before Bed
Five minutes, zero effort, noticeable results. This position supports lymphatic drainage, reduces swelling, aids digestion, and helps put your body into a rest & digest state. It’s also great for bloating or stomach discomfort — I’ll even do it for a few minutes before getting ready to go out!
6. Dry Brushing
A quick and energizing practice. Dry brushing exfoliates dead skin, boosts circulation, and supports lymphatic flow, which plays a major role in detoxification and immune balance. I aim to dry brush 3–4x per week, starting at my feet and brushing toward the heart. Smooth skin + energy boost = sold.
7. Red Light at Night
I switched my nighttime lighting to a warm red hue and it completely changed how I wind down. Red light supports melatonin production and lowers nighttime stimulation, which makes falling asleep dramatically easier. At 8pm, my bedroom basically turns into a cozy spa.
8. Warm Liquids in the Morning
I’m no longer starting my day with iced cold water. Beginning with warm water (bonus for adding lemon juice to it) or herbal tea supports digestion, hydrates after sleep, boosts circulation, and feels grounding on cold mornings.
9. Scheduled App Downtime
My apps shut down from 8:30pm to 6:30am. No doom scrolling before bed, no waking up to chaos. It has brought so much calm into my routine: better sleep, less anxiety, intentional mornings, and a lot more genuine presence. Life feels quieter in the best possible way.
10. Lymph Tapping + Qigong
This one is new for me, but wow it works. These gentle movement practices help stimulate lymph flow, reduce stress hormones, and move stagnant energy. I walk away feeling clearer, calmer, and less puffy — mentally and physically. In 2026, I want to go deeper into these practices - learn more and build a structured routine.
11. No Caffeine on an Empty Stomach
Game changer. Eating before coffee helps stabilize blood sugar and cortisol, preventing jitters, anxiety spikes, nausea, and that afternoon energy crash. My digestion thanked me, my hormones thanked me, and my nervous system definitely thanked me.
12. Castor Oil Packs
Another nighttime ritual (what’s new). Castor oil may support lymphatic flow, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and help with bloating and digestion. It’s soothing and wildly relaxing — although yes, still mildly messy. I aim to do this 2-3x a week.
13. Full Blood Work Panels
The smartest thing I did this year. Going the “test, don’t guess” route gave me real insight into my hormones, minerals, and nutrient status — and helped tailor my supplements and nutrition instead of blindly chasing wellness trends.
14. Blue Light Glasses After Sunset
Screens are unavoidable, but melatonin disruption doesn’t have to be. Blue light blockers help protect the circadian rhythm, reduce eye strain, and make it easier to fall asleep at night.
15. Walking After Meals
I’ve always loved walking — my average this year was ~16k steps/day because movement just feels good to me. But timing even 5–10 minutes after meals has been incredible for digestion and blood sugar balance. It’s such a simple win, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the day.
Looking Ahead to 2026
I’m a big believer in experimenting, noticing what works, and keeping what feels good — without forcing trends that don’t serve my lifestyle.
In 2026, I’m planning to:
• finally start creatine (don’t ask why it’s taken me this long)
• try oil pulling
• experiment with acupuncture
and I am sure I’ll have my hands on many other wellness practices, which of course I’ll report back on!

Loved this - putting my legs up on the wall before bed rn!
I love this list. I also follow most of these practices but curious to try the ones I haven’t heard of. Also where did you get your certification from? Did you like the course?
